Celebrating 7 Years Of Comfort, Confidence And Style

Hello, I’m Claire.

Seven years ago, I started The Melbourne Wardrobe for a very personal reason.

As I got older, I began to notice how much harder shopping had become.

So many stores seemed designed around younger women, fast-changing trends and clothes that looked beautiful on perfectly styled models, but felt completely different when you actually put them on.

Tops that clung in places you would rather they didn’t. Trousers that looked lovely but felt uncomfortable after an hour. Dresses that were either too tight, too revealing or simply didn’t fall the way you hoped they would.

And I realised I wasn’t the only woman feeling this way.

Our bodies change throughout life. Some of us become a little fuller, some become slimmer, and most of us have areas we simply prefer not to draw attention to.

But that should never mean we have to choose between feeling comfortable and looking beautiful.

I wanted to create a store where women could find clothing that works with their body, rather than making them feel like their body needs to change for the clothes.

That became the heart of The Melbourne Wardrobe.

I began searching for pieces with soft, comfortable fabrics, flattering shapes and easy fits. Clothing that gently drapes around the tummy and hips, gives comfortable coverage where you want it and still makes you feel feminine, polished and put together.

Because I believe the best clothes are the ones you don’t have to constantly think about while wearing them.

You should be able to sit down comfortably.

Move freely.

Enjoy lunch without worrying about your waistband.

Look in the mirror before leaving home and simply think, yes, I feel good in this.

Whether you are curvier, slimmer or somewhere in between, my goal has always been the same: to offer pieces that help women feel comfortable and confident in the body they have today.

Not the body they had twenty years ago.

Not the body they think they should have.

The one they have right now.

What started as my small idea here in Melbourne has now grown into a wonderful community of women across Australia.

And this week marks something very special for us.

The Melbourne Wardrobe is officially seven years old.

So, for our 7th anniversary, I wanted to do something we only do for this celebration.

For seven days only, our Anniversary Sale gives you special savings across the store as my way of saying thank you for helping us reach this milestone.
